Dr. Heather Theron
Dr. Heather Theron qualified in 2001 at the University of Pretoria, following in her father’s footsteps. After completing her internship and community service training, as well as a diploma in anaesthetics in Pietermaritzburg, she spent time working in the UK and New Zealand. In 2006, she returned home to Umhlanga, where she joined her father, Dr. Derek van Deventer, in private practice.
A genuine family practice that strives to live by Proverbs 17:22 — “A cheerful heart is good medicine.”
Father and daughter made a great team, balancing family life while running a trusted and compassionate medical practice.
Dr. Theron is also a resident doctor for: Totalcare Mount Edgecombe Village, Totalcare Shoreline Sibaya, and Milldene in Durban North
She is passionate about providing patient-centered care, with a focus on preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and holistic family healthcare. Heather is married to Philip, and together they have three beautiful children.
Dr Louise Wang
Dr Louise Wang qualified in 2005 at the University of Stellenbosch. After completing her internship at RK Khan Hospital, she spent five years at Stanger Regional Hospital, where she gained valuable experience working in outlying clinics, accident and emergency, and ophthalmology. Following this period, she relocated with her husband to rural Tanzania, where she greatly enjoyed volunteering at the local hospital and working with schools in the surrounding community.
After returning to South Africa and settling in Ballito, Dr Wang worked as a long-term locum at a general practice in Tongaat and has continued doing private GP locum work since. She joined Dr Theron’s team in 2021 and has loved the warm, family-oriented atmosphere of the practice, as well as meeting the wonderful people of Umhlanga and the surrounding areas. Dr Wang is married and is a proud mother of three primary school children.
